Docology: Mosquito Wars

It’s about that time of year again: mosquito season. Those pesky little biters are not just annoyances on an otherwise perfect summer day. They’re also serial killers - of the more than 100 billion people who have ever lived on this planet, nearly half are believed to have died from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.

And they are still a threat today!

Our guest on this episode is someone who took that surprising fact and turned it into a fascinating New York Times bestseller called The Mosquito: A Human History of our Deadliest Predator. Professor Timothy Winegard is a military historian, a former officer in both the Canadian and British Armed Forces, and a Star Wars fanatic.
